London universities

Student events,
on a map.

UniMap shows university students what's happening around them right now. Societies list their events and sell tickets; students open the app and see the city, not a feed.

How it works

Two kinds of account, doing two different jobs.

For students

Sign up with your email address. The map fills with events run by societies at London universities — socials, club nights, careers talks, sport, culture.

Free events are a one-tap RSVP. Paid events are bought in the app, and your tickets live in My Events.

For societies

Create an organiser account, publish events to the map, and set them free, single-price, or tiered. Members join with a code you control.

Ticket money is paid directly into your own bank account by Stripe. UniMap never holds your takings and never pays you by hand.

Pricing and fees

UniMap is free to list on. We charge a booking fee on paid tickets only.

The society sets its ticket price and receives exactly that amount. A booking fee is added on top and shown to the buyer before they pay — it covers card processing and running the platform. Nothing is deducted from the society's side.

Society sets Buyer pays Booking fee Society receives
£3.00£3.50£0.50£3.00
£4.00£5.00£1.00£4.00
£5.00£6.00£1.00£5.00
£10.00£11.00£1.00£10.00
£15.00£16.50£1.50£15.00
£20.00£21.50£1.50£20.00

Free events carry no fee at all. There is no listing charge, no monthly charge, and no minimum.

Card details never reach UniMap. Payments are handled by Stripe, which collects card details in its own secure interface. We store only a payment reference and the amounts.

Refunds and cancellations

If the society cancels the event

Every ticket holder is refunded in full, including the booking fee, automatically. The event not going ahead is not the buyer's fault, so they are not left out of pocket. Refunds are returned to the original card and typically appear within 5–10 working days.

If you change your mind

You can return your own ticket from the app up to 48 hours before the event starts. You are refunded the ticket price. The booking fee is not returned, because the event is still going ahead and the fee covers processing that has already happened.

Inside 48 hours

Returns close 48 hours before doors. By that point societies have committed to venue, catering and staffing numbers that they cannot recover. Contact the organising society directly — they can still cancel a ticket at their discretion.

Free RSVPs can be cancelled at any time up to the start of the event, at no cost.

Privacy

What we hold, and what we deliberately don't.

What we collect

What we do not collect

Who we share it with

Two processors, and no one else: Supabase hosts the database and accounts, and Stripe processes payments. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run advertising or third-party analytics.

When you buy a ticket, the organising society can see that you are attending. That is the point of a guest list; it is limited to the society whose event you bought.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request a copy of your data, correct it, or have your account and its data deleted. Email the address below and we will respond within one month.
